New Energy on Main Street
Just as the Crown of Maine Balloon Fest has been part of the summer fabric of activities in Presque Isle, the Presque Isle Street Fair is the kickoff of the balloon fest. This year’s street fair theme is “New Energy on Main Street”. Under the sponsorship of the Presque Isle Lodge of Elks #1954, has been a time of fun, food and friendship. Starting at 4:00 p.m. and ending at 10:00 p.m., downtown merchants and other organizations will join together for a terrific block party in the center of town. Main street will be closed for the many of activities that will include musical entertainment, children’s activities and other demonstrations. Everyone is invited.
Public Pilot and Crew Breakfast
For the second year, the Chapman Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club will host an excellent breakfast of pancakes, bacon, sausage, baked beans, fresh fruit, juice and coffee. The snowmobile club is well known for the terrific breakfast it serves. Various pilots and flight crews will attend the breakfast following their flights. It is time to meet and get to know the pilots while enjoying a hearty breakfast. Breakfast will be served from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. The club is located in Chapman next to the town hall at 94 Town Road.
Another growing tradition during the COMBF weekend is the Kids Karnival. The event is for children who are 10years and under. This is a free event is brought to children by the Crown of Maine Balloon Fest Committee, and includes many games, jump houses and many treats. The Caribou Parks and Recreation and Cary Medical Center along with the Pines Health Clinics are the primary sponsors inflatable bounce houses and slides. Their goal is to continue to offer a variety of fun activities for kids. The Balloon Fest brings such excitement to the area and the sponsors hope to add to the excitement with a wide range of activities for children and their families. Youth Day will be held at the Form from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Family Fun on the Field
There will be a wide range of activities for kids of all ages on the launch field on Saturday afternoon. TAMC will bring their soccer dartboard and other inflatables, an obstacle course, hula hoops, bubbles, music and more. Northern Lighthouse will join in the fun, bringing a parachute and other team building activities. And be sure to try the Giant Jenga game, courtesy of the Chamber!
Pilot and Landowners Breakfast
The closing event of the COMBF is the Pilot and Landowners Breakfast. This is a public breakfast where landowners are thanked for their allowing COMBF pilots to land their balloons on their property. Also the volunteer crew members are thanked for their support of their assigned pilots. Without the volunteer crew members, the COMBF could not be held. The pilots are recognized and thanked for coming to Aroostook County for the COMBF. The breakfast will be held after the Sunday morning flights which are the last flights of the festival. The public is invited to the breakfast. The cost is $8.00 per person. The breakfast will be prepared and served by the Order of the Eastern Star Lunar Chapter #126 at the Trinity Masonic Lodge 130 AF&AM located at 230 State Street, Presque Isle.
